Upon the expiration of the term of the present Director-General of the National Institute of Genetics (NIG), Research Organization of Information and Systems (ROIS) has decided to appoint Dr. Fumio Hanaoka as the next Director-General of the NIG, through the deliberation of the Education and Research Council.

Dr. Hanaoka will arrive at his post on the 1st of December, 2018.
