1) Basic Philosophy

The Inter-University Research Institute Corporation Research Organization of Information and Systems (hereinafter referred to as “the organization”) is nationally accountable for these important duties: earning people’s trust, reaching mutual understanding with the media and society, forming consensus, and establishing ongoing trusting relationships. Based on this recognition, we carry out public relations activities, clarify the significance and role of the organization’s existence, and provide information about those activities and outcomes related to education and research.

2) Objectives of the enactment

This policy will fulfill the basic principles through an efficient implementation of public relations activities in the organization. Furthermore, as an Inter-University Research Institute Corporation, it aims to strengthen its contribution to the research community, universities and other institutions. It will also be a guide for daily public relations activities.

3) Basic policy

  1. Respect for basic human rights and compliance with laws and regulations
    Public relations activities will be conducted based on international standards, domestic law, and regulations within the organization which concern fundamental human rights. These rights include: protection of personal information, disclosure of information, and copyright laws.
  2. Truthfulness, accuracy and fairness
    We will communicate the content of all activities and research results in an easy-to-understand way. Errors, will be promptly addressed and we will conduct public relations activities in a truthful, accurate and fair manner to fulfill our accountability to society and the research community, both in Japan and overseas.
  3. Mutual understanding, consensus formation and trust-building
    Public relations activities will be conducted through press releases, websites, events and various printed materials. We will respond accurately and promptly to any inquiries from the media and the general public. In addition, we will actively promote dialogue with the general public.
  4. Contribution to the researchers community
    In order to contribute to strengthening the research capabilities of both the research community and educational establishments, the organization headquarters, research institutes, and facilities will work together to promote public relations.
